Relationships
A broken relationship is the key gap between developers and users. Relationships are what breaks down when communication isn't effective or when needs are not communicated or satisfied. Looking at the big picture, everything feeds on everything else. Users drive expectations. Expectations drive product requirements. Products emerge as results from the imagination and creativity of developers. If what the developers deliver is not what the users expected in the first place, the relationship breaks down and a gap emerges.
